SHOES SENT FROM HEAVEN AND SOLD IN ZARA

--- Ok first of all massive apologies for being the slowest blogger ever but that's all going to change promise---

Zara have absolutely blew my mind with their shoe collection. I am the most die hard shoe lover ever and I wish I was entitled a shoe birthday so that everybody could give me a pair from this collection and then all my dreams would be made. That's just how passionate I feel about this unreal collection. I think everyone will find a staple for their Spring/Summer wardrobe with in their very reasonable price range of about £30-£100.

//Mules//Flats//Wedges//
This little collection is an absolute dream. The chain detail on the Moccasins gives them such a beautiful edge and I think both them and the track shoes are perfect pieces which can be constantly worn and both wedges are great day to night shoes. But most importantly in this collection I feel I should talk about the mule.

The mule is massive this Spring and Zara do it oh so well. It was shown earlier in the Celine and Victoria Beckham's SS14 collections and is set to stay in place for AW14. Topshop Unique's collection showed them worn with chunky ankle socks and is set to be a huge trend and I love it. The return of the mule is upon us, so it is most definitely worth investing in a pair and Zara's are my fave.

//Heels//Boots//

A great bunch of going out shoes or day shoes if you wish. I guess it depends on how brave you are with heels. I personally would wear most out all day and then complain all night about how my feet are falling off! But I am the world's biggest shoe wimp and retail slave which is never foot friendly!
I have to commend Zara on how exceptionally well they have done pastels. I usually don't venture out of black or white for shoes but these pastels have stolen my heart!  Another bunch of MUSTS!!!

//Sandals//

Now I don't know where you've been but if you haven't seen the emerging trend of pool sliders and Birkenstocks taking over SS14 you have been living in a fashion closed off hole. But hey kids it's happening. Ugly shoes are happening; and let me tell you - I freaking love ugly shoes.
Zara's sandal collection is beautiful. Plain black or crazy metallics will both look on point with some sporty ankle socks in the upcoming months and I am so stoked to start stocking up on some of these and doing some styling magic!

//Who's Wearing Them//

My massive style crush Phoebe Lettice posted a simple snap of her in the leather sandals with buckles.
(from her instagram @phoebelettice)

I also noticed two of my favourite bloggers http://www.fashionslave.co.uk/ and http://www.thingsidothinkandbuy.com/ instagramming pictures of their Zara purchases and I can not wait to see how they style them

So that's my little round up on one of the best shoe collections to hit the high street this spring (Well I think anyway) ;)
Hope you enjoy it and I pinky promise to blog lots more!

HOW TO GATSBY

So the other day I had my work's Christmas party and it had a Great Gatsby theme. I myself am a huge fan of the novel but of course the 2013 film. I literally am in awe of the twenties era it absolutely dazzles me! So I took this opportunity to go full twenties and full Gatsby. And therefore this is my guide; HOW TO GATSBY.

First MAKE UP
But I'd just like to explain that I am by no means a make up artist or think of myself as some kind of make up genius. I just like to play around with what I have and have fun (I'm actually pretty useless). But it was fun doing this look so I thought I would share it.
THE BASE
For my base I use a Garnier BB cream just a light layer to start with then my foundation is MAC Mineralize (which I swear by). I apply it all with a foundation brush/
On my cheeks I used Benefit's High Beam (in heaps). I love love highlighting possibly my favourite thing in my make up bag. To make the base more twenties themed I added a load of blusher. I used my long lasting Benefit Coralista but as it was running low. I used a cheap one on top just for extra umpphh. I honestly felt so silly wearing blusher as I never do and if I do it would only ever be a tiny bit but you need blusher for Gatsby make up as my mother repetitively told me.

THE EYES
So in all seriousness, I am bloody useless at doing my eye make up but this was what I did/used anyway. I was informed that for Gatsby eyes are smokey and I do love a smokey eye so gave it a good shot. I always use my Urban Decay NAKED palette for this. There is no real technique I use I guess apart from Blend Blend Blend. I used a mix of DARKHOUSE, GUNMETAL AND VIRGIN from the palette and just got my trusty blending brush (I use one from a models own set) and this was created. I also put a little smigde of DARKHORSE under my eyes instead of eye liner.
I then added my Liquid liner. At the time I think I was using a maybelline one which I am not very fond of usually I'd use the Soap and Glory CatEyes one or MAC's Penultimate Liquid eyeliner. Anyway technique wise it's all about the flick! I love a flick in my normal daily make up but definitely played it up more here. (this look is not a subtle one)
Mascara wise I used Maxfactor's False Lash Effect along with some very cheap falsies. Lastly; The Brows. I use Benefit's Browzings. I love it, it's so easy to use and VERY long lasting.

THE LIPS
So at this point, I'll admit I am looking rather like a Drag Queen or Kat Slater on the pull but please hold on with me, it all ties in I promise!! I used a lip liner (one of Mum's ancient ones) and filled with a MAC lipstick (not sure what shade) with a lip brush.

NOW TO

HAIR
My best friend is currently an apprentice hairdresser at Toni and Guy and he did this beautiful style for me. He is a hair styling prodigy. I'm afraid I do not know the technicalities of what he did but I can tell you he curled my hair until it was look like Medusa's with normal tongs, brushed it out really carefully and pinned it with about 1000 pins.

The hair piece I'm wearing belonged to my Nan and is actually a necklace just clipped in at the back.
So pleased with how it all turned out!

LASTLY

THE OUTFIT
Picture's are a bit poor I'm afraid as by this point I was in a total rush to get going!

DRESS- MISSGUIDED
PEARLS&HEAD PIECE- VINTAGE
SHOES - NEW LOOK
FUR - EBAY
BAG - MONSOON (OLD)

I spent forever looking for a dress for this occasion and am so glad I went for something more simple. Missguided came through with the goods for an amazing £25 plus they had a 15% discount on at the time!! The shoes were borrowed from a friend and the bag is one I had for my prom when I was 16 and all my jewellery belonged to my Nan. The only other thing I paid for was my little bit of fur which I found on Ebay for about £8, there's loads of listings on there still!

So yeah that's how I did 1920's Gatsby Glamour and I loved it! Hope you all enjoy, will probably post a LOOKBOOK later too.

OMG OMG OMG I FREAKING LOVE HOLOGRAPHIC ACCESSORIES! I am genuinely so in love with how much they jazzed up this little outfit. There is a lot of holographic items around at the moment and, as wisely said by a customer I served the other day. buying the clutch, "life's too short to be boring and this is fabulous" haha. So I would definitely suggest grabbing something holographic and spicing up your wardrobe this winter because it will look FABULOUS!
I'm afraid the rest of my outfit is a little plain. The trousers are new and I am super happy with them. I got them from Topshop online as my store did have my size but I needed a size bigger because the fit was just not baggy enough for me but now I have them and I am over the moon. They are comfy, wearable and stylish which makes me very happy!
I finished off the outfit with my classic G&R band tee and too keep me a little warm I chucked on my Dad's old baggy shirt (which he probably hasn't seen in years). I love these two pieces because I think they'll always be essentials to my wardrobe. You can pick up similar items from charity and vintage shops for really decent prices so it's definitely worth the investment I feel.
So that's today's little look, I hope it makes you happy. I was evidently quite happy when taking these pictures; I was in fact dancing around to The Black Keys and had to refrain my self from singing at the top of my voice and get these pictures done haha! Will post up on LOOKBOOK in a bit. Enjoy :)

MAD SOUNDS IN YOUR EARS

PLAYSUIT - TOPSHOP
TIGHTS - PRIMARK
TOP (WORN UNDERNEATH) - NEW LOOK
BAG - H&M
BOOTS - TOPSHOP
JACKET - CHARITY SHOP
NECKLACE - TOPSHOP

My playsuit is basically my new favourite thing in the world. I LOVE clean structuring and I love it even more in white so this playsuit was an absolute must from me. I was looking for it online for an age but it was a return to my store in my size so I had to snap it up when I could! I reckon it will be something that will get a hell of a lot of wear out of me and for years to come because it's one of those amazing pieces which can be worn in both seasons. So yeah I'm dead happy!

I don't usually do bags in my outfit post because I pretty much use this one everyday! It's so big and just ideal for everyday but I thought it particularly made this outfit. The styling of this outfit, I guess, is kept very to a minimum and I simply just chucked on a necklace, my boots and my leather jacket to complete it all. Hope you all enjoy, will post on LOOKBOOK in a bit!

So I've decided I shall call this my "Hagrid Haired Dora The Rather Gothic Explorer" look and do not ask me why :) Basically I have no decent leather shorts and thought that leather shorts would be just be oh so perfect with my new top. So I did what a girl's got to do and of course I improvised with my lush pleather playsuit and after a mass of accessorising *TADA* "Hagrid Haired Dora The Rather Gothic Explorer" was born! And do you know what? I LIKE IT!

My real motives to this look were just to grunge down my uber structured (usually quite smart looking) new top. I love structuring and I find it flattering and beautiful, but all over structuring is not my normal style. So of course it called for the fishnet tights and creepers. I feel like fishnet tights should be an essential to a wardrobe because to be honest I just love them.  These ones I'm wearing are cheap as pie from Primark but Ebay also do some great ones for a pound or so if you're looking for maybe more statement fishnets but, personally, I think these Primark ones are perfect; the holes are not too large so they tend to be a bit warmer which is great for winter!
I just completed the outfit with a few finishing touches; my bowler hat which is always great to quickly style up an outfit, my glittery socks (of course) and my cute vintage little backpack, just to give it that Dora touch ;)
Well that's just a little bit of today's very odd ramblings and my inspirations around this look! Will be posting up on LOOKBOOK ASAP. Enjoy!
